Felix Orthopedics is seeking an experienced orthopaedic PA-C to assist a busy solo orthopaedic surgeon. We are looking for an individual who is committed to excellent patient care, enjoys a fast pace, and is willing to work as a member of a team.
Felix Orthopaedics is a general orthopaedic surgery practice with a sports medicine focus. Our primary office is located in St. Marys, Georgia, north of Jacksonville, Florida, with satellite offices in Fernandina Beach (Amelia Island), Florida and Folkston, Georgia. This rural area offers a low cost of living and excellent family environment with easy access to a metropolitan area. Surgery (total knee replacement, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, fracture ORIF, foot and ankle, and hand and elbow procedures; no spine) is performed at hospitals and surgery centers in St. Marys, Georgia and in Fernandina Beach and Jacksonville, Florida. We take ER call at a small hospital which does not treat major trauma.
Because of its central location with ready access to our various offices and surgical facilities, the applicant will be expected to live in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Rich in history, Fernandina is a quiet little beach town located on beautiful Amelia Island. The area offers a wealth of water sports (boating, fishing, surfing, kayaking) and uncrowded beaches, along with ready access to Jacksonville, Florida and its international airport.
Duties

Assist in surgery
-
Evaluate patients in clinic; perform histories, physicals and pre-op evaluations; run independent clinics

Order and interpret x-rays, MRIs, and other diagnostic tests

Apply splints, casts, and braces
-
Perform joint aspirations and injections
-
Perform and assist with in-patient rounds

Consult and coordinate care with staff, physician, patient families, nursing home and hospital

Patient education

Assist in practice marketing activities
Requirements
-
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
-
Certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
-
At least two (2) years of orthopaedic experience

Eligible for immediate licensure as a physician assistant by states of Georgia and Florida
