Remington College is seeking a Medical Billing and Coding professional to join their team as an instructor. This position is located in Shreveport, LA.
We are looking for allied health professionals to join the team at our Shreveport Campus for full-time or part-time medical billing/coding instructors. These individuals will report to the Campus’s Allied Health Department Chair and Director of Education.
 
Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares lesson plans and syllabi using industry-standard approaches (e.g., multimedia, adult learning methodology).
• Implements and adheres to all school policies and procedures and to state and federal laws.
• Instructs and evaluates students, using management-approved materials.
• Manages and tracks student attrition, attendance, and grades.
• Participates in graduation ceremonies.
• Researches and implements technological changes.
• Participates in various administrative activities (e.g., attends faculty/staff meetings or in-service meetings).
• Manages difficult or emotional student- or classroom-based situations.
• Communicates all relevant information to students as required.
• Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

 
Job Requirements:

• An Associate’s Degree is a must.
• 3 years of relevant experience is a must.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• AHIMA Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is a must.
• Experience in ICD-9 codes, CPT coding, computerized insurance and billing, medical records is a must.
• Must possess superior interpersonal communication skills, solid logic/reasoning ability, and effective organizational skills.
