Provides leadership to one or more departments, ensuring the integration of Deaconess' mission and values into the work
environment; translates the organization's strategic plan into department goals and budget, monitors the progress, and
takes appropriate action, as needed; plans staffing and oversees the hiring, development and corrective action of
department human resources; creates, develops and facilitates departmental teams; develops and interprets
department(s) policies; collaborates with other departments about interdepartmental issues; and addresses and resolves
the most difficult problems within the department.
The Director of Materials Management shall be responsible for planning, implementing and supervising the activities of the Hospital's Materials Management Department, including insuring supplies and equipment are available to meet routine and emergency needs for all areas of the hospital.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Studies, plans organizes, administers the material requirement of the hospital. The functions include purchasing, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, supply distribution; financial accounting of supplies distributed, and lost charge management.

Accountable for hospital wide physical inventory, controls hospital wide inventory dollars, establishes and monitors par levels and monthly MOR.

Schedules and manages all product evaluations at hospital level. Participates in standardization of products, services and equipment; is proactive in notifying Corporate of products for evaluation that will save dollars without changing the quality of care.

Obtains bids for special projects, and any other items requested by Departments Heads for Capital Expenditure Requests (CER) preparation. Contacts corporate before requesting capital equipment bids.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors Degree from accredited college or university.
Experience:
Minimum of two years supervisory experience in a Materials Management health care field.
