The Clinical Pharmacist role is essential to patient care. The Clinical Pharmacist is valued for applying knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, effective and cost effective pharmaceutical care in the scope of their particular assignment. The Clinical Pharmacist is instrumental in the care of patients, as well as the development of effective, professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team. Acting as a resource to other staff members, the Clinical Pharmacist is an esteemed and valued clinical provider of patient care.
The Clinical/ Staff Pharmacist will work directly with the health care team and patients to provide safe and effective pharmacy services in addition to dispensing of medications, provides consultative services to medical, nursing and pharmacy staff. Ensures appropriate drug therapy, implements and monitors clinical protocols and guidelines, and enhances the delivery of evidence-based medicine. Other responsibilities include education, representation on medical center committees, and collaboration on clinical initiatives. Documents clinical activities and outcomes. Provides prescribed medications and compounds according to professional standards and practice. Prioritizes work demands.
