Maxim Health Information Services (MHIS) provides comprehensive health information management (HIM) and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) services to healthcare organizations across the country. MHIS has jobs for experienced healthcare professionals to support its offerings to customers, including onsite or remote coding services, auditing and review services, education and training, HIM outsourcing, services to the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Centers, and clinical documentation improvement services. In addition, MHIS offers web-based ICD-10 training and education to individuals and facilities.
Maxim Health Information Services is currently seeking experienced Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists for an assignment in Washington, DC.
Qualifications:
-Must have one of the following certifications: RHIA, RHIT, MD, PA, RN, or BSN (CCDS is a plus)
- Must have experience in ICD-9-CM hospital based coding.
- Strong clinical background with a minimum of three years in Med-Surg, ICU or Surgery experience
- Must have a minimum of two years clinical documentation improvement experience
- Must be knowledgeable and capable of applying / incorporating coding and clinical concepts into all phases of the development, instruction, and communication of the CDI services
- Must be able to communicate with physicians effectively
- Must have a working knowledge of clinical analytics, helping clients understand reporting results, developing practical day-to-day applications / solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Case Management / Utilization review experience
- Clinical Documentation Specialist Hospital experience
- Worked as a CDI Consultant
- HIM management experience is a plus
