Schedule:Mon-Fri, with weekend rotations
Performs a wide range of routine and complex pharmaceutical duties in support of pharmacy operations. Assumes a lead role among support staff within the pharmacy. Relieves the Pharmacist of duties related to the intake of new prescription information and the handling of Schedule II controlled substances. Must possess Pharmacy Technician Certification, as required by the Massachusetts Pharmacy Board of Registration. Graduate of an approved pharmacy technician program, or equivalent institutional/retail pharmacy experience. Must possess and maintain appropriate registration as required by Massachusetts Pharmacy Board of Registration, as well as National Pharmacy Training Certification. Requires knowledge of laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice and patient confidentiality. Requires knowledge of medication abbreviation and symbols, common dosage calculations, and storage requirements.
Must possess working knowledge of pharmacy operations and cash handling experience. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, strong communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Strong computer skills also required. Must be at least 18 years of age, with minimum 2 years experience in a retail pharmacy setting. |
