This position is responsible for the assembly, analysis and abstracting of discharged patients? incomplete medical records to ensure compliance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Performs physician suspension for incomplete medical records in compliance with Medical Staff By-laws and Rules and Regulations.Does this position require patient contact? NoSPECIFICATIONSDescription Minimum Required Preferred / DesiredExperienceWorking knowledge of computer applications. Two years in Medical Records department (hospital setting) withexperience in chart analysis. In lieu of the above referenced experience the following will be considered: Clerk who has worked within the HIM Department at one of thethree St. Rose Dominican Hospital campus locations for a minimum of one (1) year. Clerk must be in good standing with no prior disciplinary action within the past twelve (12) months. Clerk must have received a meets or exceeds on last performance appraisal. Clerk must be able to pass an entry level chart order and analysis test to be administered during the interview process.EducationHigh School or equivalent.TrainingSpecial SkillsAbility to work independently and communicate effectively. Working knowledge of form identification andcontent of medical record. Ability to efficiently and accurately file in alphabetical and numerical order. Responsible forensuring the privacy of confidential information. Ability to be flexible and do any or all other job functions assigned with the census is low or when the department is in need.
