| Position Description: |
The System Support Tech III position is responsible for maintaining networked and other distributed computer systems at a high level of reliability and flexibility. Integrate hardware and software needs of the network. Maintain system documentation and train customers on effective use of the desktop. Provide overall support of networked software, hardware and network devices. Provide support to network users for office automation applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail and other productivity software. This position will perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of all I.T. equipment (i.e. PC's, printers, terminals, etc.), making them Network ready. Performs maintenance and trouble-shoots problems associated with desktops, laptops, workstations and printers. Will handle software projects and LAN based software rollouts.
Install, maintain, and upgrade computer operating systems to ensure that all components function together as a single, congruent system.
Install and maintain current operating systems.
Integrate multiple applications and systems on the network.
Participate, under direction, in the design, selection and implementation of new hardware and software includes working with users, vendors, and other Network Services staff.
Develop, document, and maintain standards for customer configurations and activities.
Perform level 2 hardware supports on PC's and printers.
Install all newly received IT equipment including PC's, Laptops, Printers, and accessories.
Minimize down time, callbacks, and inconvenience to the customer.
Document any work completed in the current John C. Lincoln Software Support/Help Desk application. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
2 3 years mainframe computer operator experience
Computer Experience: Advanced Windows95, Intermediate Word97, Intermediate Excel97 and Novice Powerpoint97
