 Business/QA Analyst - Brookdale Senior Living
Brookdale Senior Living is the nation's leading operator of senior housing communities with over 550 communities nationwide. We are a fast growing, publicly traded company, (NYSE: BKD) with a rich 25 year heritage of senior housing expertise. We currently have an opportunity for an organized, experienced and highly motivated Business/QA Analyst within our Nashville, TN Corporate Headquarters.
Business/QA Analyst Job Summary
Business/ QA Analyst with complementary SQL and adhoc report development skills. The role of the Business/QA Analyst is to work directly with product owners and IT developers to define and document business requirements and to perform quality and testing efforts for internal Brookdale Senior Living software.
Essential Functions:
* Participate with development team in system requirements definition and documentation.
* Analyze requirements and specifications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
* Create test plans, test cases and test data as per the requirements.
* Analyze test cases thoroughly to ensure adequate coverage of requirements.
* Execute test cases, log defects and re-test defects.
* Write SQL queries to analyze data per expected test results.
* Build and maintain automated regression testing suite.
* Coordinate User Acceptance Testing with internal business clients.
* Troubleshoot production issues and assist in problem resolution as needed.
* Communicate with team members and product owners to pro-actively resolve issues.
* Perform adhoc reporting.
Candidate Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years of business analyst and software quality assurance experience.
* Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, documentation and troubleshooting skills.
* Strong interest in understanding business processes.
* Experience with agile, scrum software development processes.
* Test plan, test case, test date preparation and defect management experience.
* Testing experience dealing with large, complex and date intense applications.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
* Understanding of Relational Database structure.
* SDLC understanding (System Development Life Cycle).
* Proficient with SQL skills.
* Experience with MS SQL Server 2005.
* Experience managing regression testing suite and automated test tools is a plus.
* Team player who performs well in a fast paced environment.
* Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of developers, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or science related field is strongly preferred.
