Position Description: Health Information Manager needed facility will consider a 13-week travel assignment, a temp-to-perm arrangement, or a permanent position. 8 hr days. Must have coding experience along with management experience and a BA. Description: Reporting to the Director Health Information Management, this position is responsible for the daily operational HIM Coding activities. The incumbent is responsible for assuring consistent and complete coded and abstracted information and statistical data to support data integrity and appropriate reimbursement for services while ensuring staff are knowledgeable and applying current regulations as it relates to job accountability. Responsible for 18 Coders. Requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required. Current certification as an RHIT or RHIA and a CCS are required. The incumbent must have management experience; demonstrate knowledge of health information process and basic personnel management skills. Excellent problem-solving ability, communication, leadership, initiative and management skills are a necessity. Special skills required include a thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, disease processes, health information science, computer applications in medical records, and current dynamics in the health care industry.
