NURSING SUPERVISOR
Job Summary:
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for supervision of nursing services and all patient care related matters. There shall be on full time supervisor for 15 or less full time or FTD professional direct service staff. Has the responsibility for maintaining quality of nursing services.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversees the planning with patient, family physician and nursing personnel for initial and ongoing home health care services.
2. Ensure appropriate assignment of agency staff.
3. Ensure proper maintenance of patient records.
4. Oversee coordination of home health aide services.
5. Ensure interdisciplinary coordination of services.
6. Report to th4e SCS regarding all information pertinent to efficient and effective management of patient cxare operations.
7. Ensure effective coverage for on-call services.
8. Evaluate clinical competence of nursing personnel.
9. Participate in direct services, staff recruitment, selection, orientation, and inservice education.
10. Oversee the documentation of patient s records.

Qualifications:
Registered Nurse with an active license to practice nursing in the state of Connecticut.
Essential Capabilities:
1. Good leadership and Management skills.
2. Able to read printed worked
3. 3Able to communicate effectively in English-both verbally and in writing.
4. Able to provide own transportation to patient s home for occasional staff supervision and/or patient care.
5. Tact and sensitivity in dealing with emotional or stressful patient situations.
6. Able to provide own transportation to patient s home for occasional staff supervision and/or patient care.
7. Ability to maintain access to qualified professional consultation for service s outside his/her expertise.
8. Good case management skills including:
Ability to provide effective guidance to professional staff regarding justification for appropriate home heal service utilization. |
