Medical Laboratory Supervisor
Description
This practice has been caring for cancer patients on the south shore of Long Island for 30 years. Five triple-boarded physicians offer comprehensive and compassionate care and strive to keep patients active within the community. The practice is comprised of five physicians and 36 employees who work together in a warm, friendly, upbeat and energetic environment to offer support and guidance to our patients.
The Laboratory is an integral department within the practice assisting our physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers and blood disorders. We are looking for a talented individual to supervise and work along side our technical staff of technicians and phlebotomists as well as participate in the regulatory requirements of a CLIA certified laboratory.

| Position Comments: |
Some of your responsibilities include;
Work independently, preparing and reading a wide range of medical laboratory tests and procedures profieciently, including reticulocyte counts, differentials, and manual counts.
Operate laboratory equipment including centrifuges and Cell Dyn machines
Maintain and update procedure manuals, proficiency testing, quality controls, and daily data logs
Prepare for and participate in CLIA inspections

Requirements
To work as a Supervising Medical Laboratory Technician in the practice, you must have;
Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent
Current NYS certificate or eligible
Solid phlebotomy skills
Prior experience in a Supervisory capacity
This is a full time position, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility in time. NO WEEKENDS.
