| City Description: |
Named (although misspelled) for the vast array of peonie flowers in the area, Paonia is today still a lush landscape, which produces an abundance of fruit and vegetables. Fishing, hiking, and river floating are all popular in this small, but mighty town. Cherries are the top crop here, and the town celebrates the tart, but tasty fruit for three days during the Paonia Cherry Days each July. A parade, barbecue, fireworks, and, of course, cherries and cherry pies fills the streets.
Paonia boasts a two block main street with no traffic jams and about 1500 residents. Mount Lamborn, 11,395 feet, provides a stunning backdrop for Paonia and the surrounding mesas. Some 5,000 people live on the eight mesas near Paonia. The mesas are named Stewart, Bone, Garvin, Pitkin, Stucker, Wakefield, Lamborn and Sunshine. Orchards, small ranches, homes and horse farms cover the mesas, and a drive up any one of them guarantees spectacular views of the Ragged Mountains, Mount Lamborn and the valley below.
On Main Street, serious journalists still crank out a nationally recognized and highly progressive environmental newspaper known as the High Country News. Unabashed, investigative journalism reigns above all, and the paper's supporters, including some Grateful Dead members, cherish it.
Two adjacent history museums, the Paonia Museum and the Bowie Schoolhouse Museum, offer a step back into the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Read old articles about fruit growing in the area. Explore the abandoned mines still scattered around town or cool off at the Paonia Reservoir.

| Position Description: |
As an Occupational Therapist, you will implement high quality occupational therapy services for geriatrics in the skilled/long term care nursing home setting. Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and treating of patients
- Documenting progress toward identified objectives
- Patient screenings
- Directing the activities of occupational therapy
- Attending facility meeting as needed
- Developing and implementing new program/techniques to enhance occupational therapy services.

- Graduate of an AOTA accredited school of occupational therapy
- Valid Occupational Therapist license
- Flexibility
