Pharmacist, Conroe, TX
Lead Pharmacist
Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Senior Pharmacist
Assist the Director with supervising the daily operations of the Pharmacy Department. Demonstrates strong leadership skills
In conjunction with the Director, maintains the proper staffing matrix in accordance with patient acuity and budget parameters.
Maintains a 24 hour accountability and serves as responsible for the department in the absence of the Director.
Performs staffing requirements as a pharmacist when necessary.
Coordinates ongoing Pharmacy activities, which promote appropriate, safe and cost effective drug therapy with the hospital.
Promotes and enhances Pharmaceutical Care practice by providing appropriate leadership, management and education. Serves as a role model and educator for the staff in terms of pharmacy practice and patient care.
Coordinate program to improve patient care outcomes and participation in ensuring adherence to all JCAHO, State Board of Pharmacy, or other regulatory agencies.
Demonstrates personal/interpersonal skills, which fosters quality, teamwork and customer service.
Regards narcotic control and documentation as a top priority. Assuring all narcotic discrepancies are resolved timely with documentation completed and filed correctly.
Day shift 5 days rotating weekends, fills Prescriptions also
Qualifications
Education:
A BS in Pharmacy or a Pharm.D. Degree
Experience:
Three to five (3-5) years pharmacy management experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
The Senior Pharmacist must have effective verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate in a clear and concise manner with staff, patients, public, physicians, and administration. Competently performs staff pharmacist duties. Must be knowledgeable in budget preparation, inventory control, scheduling, and counseling of employees.
