This community is located in the beautiful flint hills of Northeast Kansas, within driving distance of Topeka and Kansas City. There is a lake just five miles away with an extensive shoreline. Favorite past-times are raising and riding horses, hunting, fishing, attending nearby college athletics and theater, and shopping. Children's sports are very popular and plentiful as well. There is a large free Independence Day celebration held here as well. It lasts four days and includes a water show, large parade, music and food in the park, kids activities, and more.
